Fibre Atlantic Submarine Cable System
Fibre Atlantic aims to design, deploy and operate a privately held transatlantic fibre optic submarine cable system with Cable Landing Stations in the Netherlands and the U.S. , with a design capacity of at least 20Tbps and multiple Dark Fibre pairs. The project will offer a solution to the constant growing bandwidth usage between Europe and the United States and will ensure that newly build broadband access and mobile networks can be better utilized, current and future Internet users get unlimited access to the Internet and the further expansion and development of the Internet.
Cable owners welcome!
Developing and maintaining submarine cable systems is no trivial endeavour and requires a long term investment view of developers, investors and/or ISPs.
As developer of Internet infrastructures we do not seek competition with other cable owners that is why we offer the unique proposition to lease Dark Fibres and build your own virtual cable system with complete control over equipment selection, management and end-to-end provisioning. The main advantage will be lower costs and risks without making long term commitments and investments. This solution is interesting for cable owners who want to:
- Expand their capacity and lower risks and costs
- Utilize new 100G technology to its full potential
- Swap capacity between systems and routes
- Build a more resilient network infrastructure
Status
Recently we completed the first design of the cable system and we are currently talking with suppliers, investors and customers. Our goal is to have the system ready for service in the first quarter of 2015. Please keep an eye on our website for any updates and announcements.
